Close listening to valued texts is an ancient practice in all authentic spiritual traditions where literacy is central. Attuned to both content and voice, the ear receives meaning differently from the eye scanning the page. Here, we offer readings from the Gurdjieff canon that are both essential and accessible for students and potential students of the teaching.
We begin with Ouspensky’s In Search of the Miraculous and will continue with Jean Vaysse’s Toward Awakening, Gurdjieff’s Views From the Real World, and other sources.
